Job summary

PCL Constructors Inc. in Edmonton is seeking a Health, Safety and Environment Student for a 4–12 month engagement starting January 2027, reporting to the Director, HSE Programs.

You will gain hands-on experience supporting corporate HSE initiatives and workplace safety programs. This role involves assisting with program development, inspections, incident follow-up, documentation, and stakeholder coordination across North America, with opportunities for practical field exposure and professional

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of HSE principles, hazard identification, and risk assessment.
• Ability to research, analyze information, and identify improvement opportunities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of HSE programs, procedures, and other resources.
• Assisting with research, analysis, and project work related to Corporate HSE initiatives and strategic priorities.
• Coordinating stakeholder reviews and maintaining HSE documentation, records, and supporting materials.
• Collecting, organizing, and analyzing HSE information to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.
• Participating in field, campus, and workplace visits to build practical knowledge of HSE requirements and their application.
• Participating in workplace inspections, hazard identification, incident management, and corrective action follow-up.
• Collaborating with Corporate HSE, Resources, Facilities, and other business partners to implement campus safety improvements.
• Assisting with Joint Work Site Health and Safety Committee activities, including meeting preparation, documentation, and action tracking.
