Job summary

Forge Performance Group collaborates with a national organization to advance workplace health and safety. The Program Manager will deliver consultative health and safety services to member organizations and industry partners, strengthening safety programs and reducing incidents.

The role involves leading on-site consultations, coordinating regional workshops, analyzing WCB data, and advising committees, with a focus on COR and SECOR programs and building a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline.
  • Safety designation (CRSP) or certification or pursuing one is preferred.
  • Five+ years of project or program management experience.
  • Experience in oil & gas or related industrial environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site safety consultations and initiatives to strengthen client safety programs.
  • Coordinate and deliver regional health and safety workshops and represent the organization at events.
  • Analyze WCB claims data and safety statistics to identify trends and prioritize support.
  • Conduct on-site assessments and provide recommendations to improve safety management systems.
  • Stay updated on legislation and safety initiatives, including COR and SECOR programs.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to committees and working groups with subject matter expertise.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by sharing best practices.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director, Industry Impact & Development, the Program Manager is responsible for providing consultative health and safety services to member organizations and industry partners. This role works directly with clients to strengthen safety programs, improve workplace performance, and support the organization’s mission of reducing work‑related injuries and incidents across the industry.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead on‑site safety consultations and initiatives to help clients strengthen their health and safety programs while reducing workplace illness and injury.
  • Coordinate and deliver regional health and safety workshops and represent the organization at industry events and conferences.
  • Analyze Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) claims data and organizational safety statistics to identify trends and prioritize client support.
  • Conduct on‑site assessments and provide recommendations to improve health and safety management systems.
  • Stay current on legislation, regulations, and emerging safety initiatives to provide informed guidance, including support related to Certificate of Recognition (COR) and Small Employer Certificate of Recognition (SECOR) programs.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to committees and working groups by providing subject matter expertise.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by promoting industry best practices and organizational safety initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
What You’ll Bring
  • Post‑secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • A recognized safety designation (CRSP) or Occupational Health & Safety certification, or currently working toward one.
  • Safety Auditor certification is considered a strong asset.
  • Five or more years of project or program management experience.
  • Experience working within the oil and gas industry or a related industrial environment is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of industry health and safety legislation, regulations, and return‑to‑work programs.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret safety statistics and communicate findings clearly.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, mentoring, and consensus‑building abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Confidence presenting to groups and leading workshops.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of audit protocols and auditing techniques.
