Position Summary

Tacten is seeking a professional, energetic and forward-thinking Heath and Safety Coordinator to support our crew on an industrial site in Fort McMurray! Are you passionate about safety? Role Details:

  • 14/14 Rotation, 12 hours days.
  • Camp accomodations.
  • Flights available from major Alberta hubs (Calgary or Edmonton) only.
Responsibilities
  • Assisting with the implementation of control and monitoring measures related to safety and/or quality performance;
  • Performing regular field safety and quality audits
  • Providing leadership in the investigation of all quality and safety incidents and providing direction for the disposition of corrective actions
  • Participating in the design and implementation of special programs to correct adverse safety or quality performance trends
  • Providing safety and/or quality oversight and coaching during shutdowns and other site-based work programs
  • Assisting the departmental Manager towards completion of prioritized quality, health, and safety action items
  • Participating in the delivery of regional safety or quality training initiatives
  • Identifying critical safety and/or quality awareness aspects for each work area and delivering training to employees;
  • Understanding and communicating relevant Canadian and provincial regulations, relevant standards and emerging case law and ensuring continued awareness and application in prevention programs
  • Maintaining updated records via reporting systems for safety and quality training, near-miss reports, and other related policies and procedures
  • Ensuring the Manager has information required to produce reliable quality and/or safety metrics on a monthly basis
  • Review, revise and solicit input to the Safety and/or Quality Management System as required
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education diploma or degree program in OHS
  • NCSO and/or CRSP certification or progress towards certification
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or construction environment
  • Familiarity with, and ability to interpret, standards/regulations/legislation/caselaw
  • Understanding of ISO Compliance Programs, and Safety and/or Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures;
  • Experience in applying corrective action and root cause analysis methodologies
  • Confidence in providing coaching and influencing the behavior of employees across the region
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others to accomplish objectives
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A commitment to enforce understanding and compliance with responsibilities under the provincial Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations, and Acuren Safety and Quality Management Systems, policies and procedures
  • Working experience in Rope Access will be considered an asset
