Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY:
The HSE Coordinator supports the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) management systems. This role acts as the central point of coordination for HSE data, systems, and administrative processes, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The position is key in promoting a strong HSE culture across the organization.

Additional responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Administer HSE management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Velocity or equivalent).
  • Maintain accurate and timely HSE records, including incident reports, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
  • Manage user access, system updates, and configuration to meet operational needs.
  • Generate and distribute regular HSE reports, dashboards, and KPIs for management.
  • Assist in the implementation and communication of HSE policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Coordinate incident and hazard reporting workflows, including investigations and closeouts.
  • Develop and track compliance with safety training, permits, licenses, and legal obligations.
  • Support the preparation for internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Maintain HSE training matrices and coordinate training logistics.
  • Facilitate onboarding of new staff with HSE induction and system access.
  • Support the delivery of toolbox talks and safety alerts in collaboration with site HSE representatives.
  • Identify opportunities for streamlining HSE system processes and increasing user engagement.
  • Participate in HSE meetings, initiatives, and improvement projects.
  • Support change management activities related to updates in HSE processes or systems.
  • Other duties as assigned


DUTIES:

  • Administer and maintain HSE management systems: Oversee the operation of systems like SharePoint and Velocity, ensuring they meet organizational needs and are regularly updated and configured.
  • Manage HSE records and documentation: Ensure accurate and timely maintenance of HSE records, including incident reports, audits, inspections, and corrective actions, in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Generate and distribute HSE reports: Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management, tracking the status of HSE programs and initiatives.
  • Coordinate incident and hazard reporting: Assist operations with reporting, investigation, and closeout of incidents and hazards, ensuring effective resolution and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Support HSE policy and program implementation: Assist in the communication and implementation of HSE policies, procedures, and programs across the organization, ensuring alignment with safety standards.
  • Manage compliance and training logistics: Track compliance with safety training, permits, licenses, and legal obligations, and facilitate the coordination of HSE training and induction for new employees.
  • Participate in continuous HSE improvement: Actively engage in HSE meetings, initiatives, and improvement projects, identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance system engagement across the organization.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum College degree in Engineering, HSE, Environmtal or HR
  • University degree - preferred
  • Manufacturing experience - preferred
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001, ISO 14001)- preferred
  • Proficient in HSE systems (e.g., SharePoint, VelocityEHS)- preferred
  • Strong data management and reporting skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with training coordination and delivery
