Job summary

Bird Construction Winnipeg is seeking an HSE Coordinator to oversee the Bird Safety Program and monitor safety compliance on assigned projects. The role will be located in Winnipeg, with responsibilities across site inspections, safety training, and COR program administration.

• Construction Safety Officer (CHSO or NCSO) is required.
• Relevant Post-Secondary education in HSE is an asset.

• Maintain statistics and records; monitor accident/incident frequencies and safety violations; assist investigations and related documentation.
• Assist in the planning and startup of new projects with respect to safety issues.
• Inventory safety-related training of workers; conduct new worker safety orientations.
• Regularly monitor safety compliance of workers and subcontractors; conduct site inspections and institute remedial action if required.
• Ensure completion of regular site inspection reports; note resolutions to deficiencies or actions taken.
• Conduct field-level safety meetings, toolbox talks, and health and safety informational awareness.
• Assist in administration and management of the COR program.
• Keep management current on the status of issues impacting work.
• Other duties as required.

What We Are Looking For

• Have good working knowledge of local government Health & Safety Acts, Policies, Regulations, and Industry Standards as they apply to the construction industry.
