About The Role

As the HSE & Compliance Manager, Global Geochemistry, you will lead health, safety, and environmental initiatives across global geochemistry operations. Reporting to the General Manager and aligned with the Group HSE Director, you’ll coordinate HSE programs, support corporate compliance goals, and liaise with authorities as needed. You’ll guide global HSE strategy, lead the Geochemistry HSE Group, and oversee performance improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, recommend, and implement overall strategic direction, planning and organization of Geochemistry priorities
  • Coordinate and communicate corporate HSE and Compliance responsibilities between the global HSE resources
  • Support the region when dealing with global governmental regulatory entities as needed
  • Review and report on Global HSE performance monthly
  • Develop and support best practice principals to improve consistency with global HSE and compliance programs and tools
  • Assess, interpret, and implement all requirements of the HSE regulations in all ALS locations within Geochemistry
  • Ensure the MPTS Project Startup HSE Management System is implemented at all MPTS sites
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental regulatory needs
  • Enforce safety standards group, identify, and monitor corrective actions to ensure compliance
  • Support an HSE culture of reporting, review and corrective actions
  • Lead the Global Geochemistry team to develop and support corporate initiatives and programs
  • Focus on Injury Management, monitor and support all claims within the region including rehabilitation and claims management
  • Develop programs to reduce high risk elements through Life Saving Rules and review of incident trends
  • Review and report on PPI program metrics and globally support compliance
  • Participate in or manage global HSE audits
  • Manage and maintain global monitoring programs to include air testing, personal testing, environmental testing.
  • Review and manage lead and silica exposure control plans.
  • Engage in sustainability activities related to risk reduction in the geochemistry group.
  • Engage in sustainability activities related to corporate objectives and their adaptation to the geochemistry group.
  • Ensure appropriate mandatory training (Induction, specialty roles, refresher)
  • Use correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.
  • Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of university degree, College level or Institutional Occupational Health and Safety Program or equivalent is desired
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressively increasing responsibility for Health and Safety outcomes and program conception / implementation
  • Minimum of 1 year management experience
  • Multilingual preferred, however business operations are primarily conducted in English

Physical Demands

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of time when required
  • Manual dexterity to perform intricate and / or repetitive tasks.
  • Wear issued personal protective equipment (PPE) such as dust masks, gloves etc., when required.
  • Ability to stand for a full shift.
  • Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which includes periodic sedentary responsibilities.
  • Ability to communicate via telephone and email without assistance.

  • An estimated annual salary ranging from $130,000 - $140,000 at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and / or training.
