This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for cultivating a culture of safety.

This is a temporary, full-time position following a standard turnaround schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation of CAM’s HSE Management System.
  • Conduct project start-up and readiness reviews.
  • Develop and execute HSE plans, including HASAPs and SPAs.
  • Deliver training and educational sessions for site teams.
  • Perform audits, inspections, and gap analyses to ensure program compliance.
  • Monitor the quality and consistency of HSE program implementation.
  • Manage JSIMS, incident reporting, investigations, and recordkeeping.
  • Develop recognition and rewards programs to promote HSE excellence.
  • Conduct risk assessments and manage claims effectively.
  • Provide support for turnaround operations and first aid/emergency services.
  • Oversee PPE procurement and subcontractor management.
  • Implement and manage site security programs as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in plant/refinery construction, maintenance, or turnaround operations.
  • HSE team lead or management experience is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Experience working with union craft employees.
  • Knowledge of WSIB injury claims management.
  • Familiarity with industry HSE associations, affiliations, and resources.
  • Bachelor’s degree in safety or a related field, or equivalent work experience (preferred).
  • Professional designation (e.g., P.E., ASP, CSP) or qualifications from a national/international certifying agency (preferred).
