Health & Safety (HS) Technician

THE ROLE:

The HS Technician, as part of the Health & Safety team, oversees routine field activities related to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). Responsibilities include supporting the Joint HS Committee, delivering training, conducting inspections, and implementing hazard mitigation measures. The role also involves incident response and investigation, promoting a safety culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting risk management. This is a full-time, site-based rotational position at various project sites in northern Saskatchewan. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada and arrange their travel to a designated point near Saskatoon, with Denison providing accommodation and PPE.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Reliable, diligent, with a strong focus on operational excellence, the ideal candidate will have a diverse skill set in Occupational Health and Safety. They should proactively maintain and monitor safety systems, ensuring accountability and compliance. Qualifications include:

  • Post-secondary education in occupational health and safety or related field; relevant experience and certifications may substitute.
  • NCSO certification is required; other safety designations are assets.
  • 3+ years of OHS experience in construction, mining, or industrial settings; uranium sector experience is an asset.
  • Training in First Aid, CPR, AED, Mental Health First Aid, and other safety areas is preferred.
  • Experience in safety training, proficiency with MS Office, and familiarity with EHS software like Cority are assets.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to think critically and work independently.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing is required.
