Job : HR Specialist (Bilingual – English / French)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior HR Specialist (Bilingual) to support HR compliance and employee relations across Canada. This role is primarily focused on compliance (80%), with additional responsibilities in policy development and employee relations.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong organizational skills, fluent in English and French, and experienced in navigating multi-jurisdictional HR regulations. This is a remote position supporting Canadian operations, with a preference for candidates based in Vancouver, though applicants from Quebec and Ontario are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures in compliance with Canadian federal and provincial laws (English & French).

Provide guidance on regulatory compliance, employee relations, and HR best practices.

Support and manage compliance programs:

  • Pay Equity (Quebec, Ontario, BC)
  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
  • Federal Contractor Program
  • Francisation Program (Quebec)

Conduct investigations, performance improvement planning, and conflict resolution.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Payroll, Legal, and US-based HR Business Partners.

Utilize Workday for HRIS management and documentation processes.

Provide HR support during mergers and acquisitions within Canada.

  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial employment regulations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • 5–7+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a compliance-focused role.
  • Bilingual in English and French (written and verbal).
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian labor laws and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with Google Suite or willingness to learn.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Workday preferred).
  • HR certification (CPHR / ORHRI) is an asset, but not required.
