A leading technology firm in Toronto is seeking a Sr. Manager for Learning & HR Initiatives to drive talent and learning strategies that support the Cloud Acceleration Program. The candidate should have significant experience in managing people programs, project management, and using HR data. A strong communications capability and an understanding of corporate strategies are essential for success in this dynamic role.

Story Behind the Need
Business group: Technology Human Resources – Support transformation initiatives around cloud.
This position is for a Sr. Manager, Learning & HR Initiatives, who supports/develops and executes on the talent and learning strategies to support the Banks’ Cloud Acceleration Program (CAP). Reporting to the Director, HR Initiatives, this role works closely with Technology HR and Global Learning to drive program deliverables based on inputs from program leaders, the business and the CAP transformation office. Required to support end-to-end development and delivery of people-related initiatives.
Purpose
Develops and executes on the talent and learning strategies to support the Banks’ Cloud Acceleration Program (CAP). Reporting to the Director, HR Initiatives, this role works closely with Technology HR and Global Learning to drive program deliverables based on inputs from program leaders, the business and the CAP transformation office. Required to support end-to-end development and delivery of people-related initiatives.
Accountabilities
• In partnership with the Director, HR Initiatives, responsible for evaluating and developing strategies to support the Cloud Talent & Learning plans.
• Participates and represents CAP HR in planning and ongoing discussions with business area leaders.
• Provides strategic insights and solutions to meet program priorities and needs. Delivers input and feedback on program design to Business leaders and provides recommendations on program execution.
• Executes on the implementation of learning programs and collaborates with HR and Learning COE to ensure successful deployment. Supports program management and day-to-day execution of Cloud programs ensuring delivery excellence.
• Proactively utilizes a wide range of HR data to identify themes/trends and recommend effective strategies to meet the business needs and track program success metrics. Support program reporting and KPI tracking monthly and quarterly.
• Advocates and champions learning within the business and proactively contributes to creating an integrated function that is scalable, flexible, efficient and effective.
• Maintains new and ongoing relationships with external vendors, leveraging knowledge to implement solutions to improve/enhance strategies, programs and processes.
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
• Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations within their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk.
Must have requirements:
1) 5-8 years of experience developing and executing talent and learning strategies and solutions in a large complex corporate environment
2) 5-8 years of experience in project management and effective execution skills to ensure successful delivery/implementation of HR initiatives and programs
3) Ability to leverage people data and success metrics to program outcomes – experience with reporting, using dashboards, and advanced excel capabilities.
4) 5 years of experience as an HRBP or HR consultant
Nice to have skills
• Degree, certificate or designation in adult learning is an asset
• Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with different levels of the organization (VP and below).
• Strong ability to strategically influence and persuade leaders. Strong ability to effectively perform in a complex, high-change environment while being a positive steward for the global HR team
• Strong problem-solving, conflict management, and negotiation skills

The ideal candidate brings comprehensive, end-to-end experience in managing people programs and initiatives. They have a strategic mindset and a proven ability to design, implement, and support talent strategies that drive organizational effectiveness and workforce development. The best candidate must have experience building learning programs to support upskilling, reskilling for enterprise enablement. Candidates with experience supporting cloud platforms or contributing to technology transformation initiatives will be especially valuable.
Education
Post-secondary Degree in Human Resources or Business or related field
CHRP designation is an asset
Degree, certificate or designation in adult learning is an asset
