Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, HR, the HR Coordinator supports HR programs and services throughout the employee lifecycle. The role involves administering funding applications, reporting, and assisting with immigration-related activities, including the Temporary Foreign Worker Program. The Coordinator provides broad HR support to ensure effective HR service delivery.

Key Accountabilities
Government Grants and Training Programs
  • Research grant and funding opportunities at provincial and federal levels.
  • Prepare and submit applications for government grants and wage subsidies (e.g., Canadian Job Grant, SWPP).
  • Track eligibility, deadlines, and reporting obligations.
  • Collect data, prepare documentation, and assist with compliance reporting.
  • Monitor program usage and disbursements.
Foreign Worker Program Administration
  • Support administration of LMIA, TFWP, IMP, and provincial nominee processes.
  • Coordinate document collection with legal counsel or immigration consultants.
  • Track work permit expiry dates, and manage renewals and extensions.
  • Assist with onboarding and settlement of foreign workers.
  • Ensure compliance with immigration regulations and maintain related records.
  • Liaise with legal, government, and internal stakeholders on immigration matters.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
  • Coordinate job postings, interviews, reference checks, and onboarding activities.
  • Support recruitment data management and internship programs.
Employee Engagement & Events
  • Organize wellness initiatives, recognition programs, and company events.
  • Support internal communications, diversity, and inclusion activities.
HR Administration
  • Maintain employee records, HR documents, attendance, and leaves.
  • Manage HR databases and organizational charts.
  • Respond to HR inquiries and escalate issues when necessary.
General HR Support
  • Assist HR team with administrative tasks and project implementations.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of HR experience.
  • Knowledge of Canadian employment laws.
  • Strong organizational, detail-oriented, and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems; experience with Ceridian Dayforce is an asset.
  • CHRP designation or progress toward it is an asset.
