We are seeking a Human Resources Business Partner with a passion for food, people, and retail to support our employees with the necessary tools, knowledge, and support to excel in serving our communities. This role is based at our Winnipeg Inkster Retail Support Centre (1800 Inkster Boulevard, MB R3C 3J6). Please note, on-site work is required.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing :

This HR Business Partner will collaborate closely with employees and management at the Retail Distribution Centre, working with other HR teams and union representatives. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing coaching, advice, and guidance on employee relations issues, policy violations, investigations, discipline, and terminations.
  • Leading investigations into employee relations and legal employment issues.
  • Building strong relationships with operations leadership, HR teams, and union representatives.
  • Executing employee programs developed by Centres of Excellence.
  • Managing organizational change processes, including expansion projects.
  • Supporting leaders in a unionized environment.
  • Addressing compensation issues and guiding salary decisions.
  • Ensuring proper administration of Total Rewards programs, including salary, benefits, pension, and incentives.
  • Supporting annual salary reviews and incentive programs.
  • Coaching leaders on employee engagement and facilitating performance and succession planning processes.
  • Developing job descriptions and supporting job evaluations.
  • Collaborating on employee leaves and return-to-work processes with the IHM team.
  • Partnering with Talent Acquisition for recruitment activities.
  • Liaising with legal counsel on employee legal matters and mediations.
  • Working with Labour Relations on collective bargaining issues.
  • Supporting Talent Management and Learning & Development programs.

What you have to offer :

  • Experience in a unionized environment (preferred).
  • Knowledge of all components of generalist HR functions.
  • Understanding of Manitoba employment legislation.
  • Knowledge of human behavior, business management, operations, and strategy.
  • Ability to work with multiple business partners in a matrix environment (preferred).
  • CPHR designation or working towards it (preferred).
  • Experience in warehouse, transportation, or manufacturing settings (asset).
