    In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders and employees, helping to drive strategic HR initiatives that align with Johnston Group’s business objectives and people-first philosophy. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Human Resources, you will be responsible for delivering end-to-end HR support across talent acquisition, employee engagement, policy development, training coordination, and data-driven decision-making. This is a hands-on, impactful role where you will balance strategic planning with daily operational HR needs, playing a key part in building a high-performing, inclusive, and resilient workplace culture.

    The ideal candidate will bring strong business acumen, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for driving continuous improvement through people practices.

    Key Responsibilities

    Strategic HR Support and Employee Relations:

    • Partner with leaders to align HR strategies with business objectives, supporting a high-performance and inclusive culture.
    • Provide guidance on performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, and organizational development.
    • Support the administration of disability management programs and return-to-work processes.
    • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with employment laws, HR policies, and best practices.

    Talent Acquisition, Development, and Workforce Planning:

    • Manage full-cycle recruitment efforts to attract, assess, and hire top talent across the organization.
    • Build strong talent pipelines and support workforce planning initiatives aligned with business needs.
    • Coordinate employee training and development programs to promote skill growth and career advancement.
    • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all talent practices and employee initiatives.

    HR Operations, Analytics, and Process Improvement:

    • Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and support strategic, data-driven decisions.
    • Leverage technology to streamline HR processes and enhance the employee experience.
    • Maintain accurate HR records, reporting, and documentation to support operational excellence.
    • Contribute to strategic HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that drive organizational success.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role.
    • Bachelor’s Degree or Human Resources Certificate (CPHR designation preferred).
    • Fluent in both English and French (spoken and written).
    • Proven success in full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition.
    • Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment legislation, and workforce management.
    • Exceptional project management, time management, and organizational skills.
