Reports Directly To : Director, Human Resources CF34 / CFM56 & GE TRDC

Specific Accountabilities

  • HR business partner to Business Unit's leaders, involved in all aspects of the HR function for CF34 / CFM56 & GE TRDC
  • Assists in recruiting, selection, employee and team development, organizational design and change management for Business Unit
  • Works directly with managers regarding placements and reassignments. Ensures job specifications and desired qualifications are clear
  • Liaises with search firms, recruiting agencies, colleges and schools, etc. to communicate with prospective applicants.
  • Coordinates relocation efforts of candidates hired from outside geographical areas, as well as, internal candidates relocating to other sites.
  • Supports functional leadership in administering compensation plans and reward and recognition programs that are equitable and in line with the organization's goals and total rewards philosophy.
  • Provides advice, counsel and support for benefits, training, compliance programs and HR Information Systems to BU.
  • Administers policies and procedures for employment, placement, termination and transfer of employees. Ensures the consistent and equitable application of organization policies and procedures.
  • Takes appropriate actions to address and resolve employee relations issues, including investigations.
  • Confidentially guides staff and management through a process of developing answers, solutions, and / or strategies to deal fairly, legally and effectively with people-related matters.
  • Advises managers on policies and procedures to assure adherence to company policies for initiating appraisal, disciplinary and staffing decisions.
  • Guides management & employees through the performance management and termination processes.
  • Where required, develops and conducts training as it relates to staffing and employee relations.
  • Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices / conditions.
  • Carries out special projects as assigned.

Technical Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, planning organizational, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information
  • Professionalism and diplomacy with all levels of the organization
  • Presentation skills and comfort in front of larger groups
  • Strong analytic skills and problem solving.
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of excel / word / powerpoint .
  • Multi-tasking with the ability to remain calm during high volume periods
  • Thorough knowledge of the Canada Labor Code.
  • Thorough knowledge of related company administrative policies and procedures.
  • CPHR certified or CPHR Candidate or working towards same.
  • A minimum of 3-5 year's experience in a Human Resources role partnership with operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in a field related to personnel management, such as business administration, industrial relations, commerce or psychology; or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of career development, training and development theories and techniques.
  • Skilled in employee relations, compensation, coaching and change management.
  • Experience preferred in Fusion, Dayforce and Desjardin Benefit plans.
