Job summary

Wajax is seeking an HR Business Partner to align people strategies with business objectives and drive organizational performance across the employee lifecycle.

You will partner with senior leaders to deliver talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in a similar HR role partnering with senior leaders
  • Experience in labour relations
  • CHRP designation preferred; strong MS Office skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and partner with business leaders to develop and drive HR initiatives aligning with the company strategy
  • Oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management and change initiatives
  • Guide managers on employee relations, policy interpretation and dispute resolution
  • Develop communication strategies and training programs to support culture and transformation

The Opportunity

Serves as a strategic partner to business leaders, aligning people strategies with business objectives to drive organizational performance and support growth. The HRBP delivers consultative and operational HR support across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, workforce planning, performance management, learning and development, employee and labour relations, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, succession planning, and retention. This role partners closely with leaders to build leadership capability, foster a positive workplace culture, and support business transformation initiatives.

The Role
  • Lead and participate in team(s) to develop, implement and drive human resource initiatives and programs to effectively deliver the company’s HR strategy and services
  • Lead implementation planning and execution for talent acquisition, performance management, capability development and talent management initiatives
  • Partner with leaders & talent acquisition to fulfill current and future hiring needs through the effective management of the recruiting & onboarding process to ensure we attract and select critical talent
  • Lead planning of change initiatives within the region/division and ensure appropriate strategies and action plans are in place to achieve required changes; facilitate effective planning and execution in partnership with leaders
  • Diagnose organizational issues/needs & make recommendations to support culture & structural changes
  • Provide guidance and direction on all aspects of employee/labour relations including coaching & advising leaders on the interpretation & implementation of applicable legislation, collective agreements & company policies, and supporting managers in determining the appropriate resolution to issues
  • Recommend & build appropriate communication strategies, plans & guidelines to support change efforts, build employee engagement and help achieve overall business objectives
  • Facilitate organizational development programs for managers & employees by delivering or facilitating access to training on supervisory practices , interpersonal communication skills, team building and other subjects as appropriate
  • Work with leaders to ensure that people implications of business decisions are understood and considered
  • Ensure the effective management of disability claims and work with managers to facilitate return to work programs
  • Use metrics and analytics regularly to help support business strategies, identify talent trends / human resources issues and uses to make recommendations
The Candidate

Education: Bachelor Degree in Business, Human Resources or related field

Work Experience: 7+ years of similar role with experience partnering with senior leaders and frontline management with a proven track record of delivering results and successfully managing change: labour relations experience required

Knowledge: CHRP designation preferred, Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, computer skills
