We’re seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to serve as a strategic collaborator with leaders across WinSport, aligning HR practices with business objectives to strengthen workforce capability and operational effectiveness. This role plays a critical part in advancing WinSport’s NEXT30 strategy by leading integrated talent and organizational development initiatives that support the full employee lifecycle.
As a key member of the Team & Culture division, you will build trusted relationships with leaders to provide guidance on organizational design, change management, and employee relations. You will work cross-functionally to develop and implement programs that enhance leadership capability, promote an inclusive and high-performance culture, and build the organizational capacity needed to deliver exceptional programs, services, and community impact.
Key Outcomes
- People Strategy & Business Partnership
- Build strong partnerships with leaders to align HR strategies with organizational and departmental goals.
- Provide guidance on workforce planning, organizational design, and change management to support team performance and talent development.
- Contribute to the Next30 Plan by supporting capability building, coaching, and initiatives that enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Talent Management
- Partner with business leaders to identify critical talent needs, support succession planning, and develop strategies that strengthen internal capability and leadership.
- Design and enhance talent acquisition, onboarding, and development programs to attract, integrate, and retain high-performing, values-aligned talent.
- Employee Relations, Performance & Culture
- Provide coaching to leaders on employee relations, performance management, and career development to foster effective and inclusive leadership.
- Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, and satisfaction, contributing to a positive and high-performance workplace culture.
- Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility by embedding inclusive practices into coaching, programs, and daily interactions.
- Policy, Compliance & Risk
- Ensure HR policies and practices are current, inclusive, and compliant with employment legislation and organizational priorities.
- Provide guidance on employment law, risk assessment, and policy interpretation to support informed decision-making.
- Advance a safe, respectful, and data-informed workplace by supporting OH&S initiatives and leveraging HR metrics and insights.
- HR Analytics & Continuous Improvement
- Use HR data and analytics to identify trends, assess risks, and provide insights that inform strategic people decisions.
- Collaborate across functions to deliver integrated HR solutions that enhance processes, systems, and the overall employee experience.
- Drive continuous improvement by streamlining practices, increasing efficiency, and supporting a culture of operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Post-secondary education in HR, Business Administration, or related fields of study.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in a human resources generalist, advisory, or business partner role.
- Proven ability to advise leaders on talent strategies, workforce planning, performance management, organizational change, with strong knowledge of Alberta employment law and HR best practices.
- CHRP designation (or in progress) is considered an asset.
