Role Overview

The HR Assistant will provide support to the HR team across various functions and locations. This role assists in key HR areas including employee data maintenance, onboarding and offboarding, training coordination, and policy implementation. Operating across Canada and the USA, the HR Assistant contributes to the consistent execution of HR practices in alignment with Uniuni’s global expansion strategy and organizational standards.

  • Maintain and update employee records in HR systems.
  • Support onboarding, job changes, and offboarding processes, including system updates.
  • Coordinate training sessions using the LMS, track attendance, and maintain training records.
  • Assist in implementing HR policies and support projects such as employee engagement and performance management.
  • Respond to basic employee inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed.
  • Help prepare internal announcements and support employee events and communications.
  • Coordinate content collection and assist in the preparation of internal company publications, such as the UniTimes.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including documentation and meeting coordination.
  • Please note that this is a contract to FT position based at UniUni head office

Qualifications

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or a closely related field is required.
  • Minimum 6 months (0.5 years) of hands-on experience in an HR or administrative support role, preferably in a structured or fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; exposure to HRIS systems is an asset.
  • Interest in learning Canadian and U.S. employment standards and HR best practices.
  • Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Mandarin is considered an asset.
  • Salary between 19 to 22 CAD per hour
