Mind Games is Canada’s go-to destination for the best in puzzles, games, toys, and collectibles. As a fast-growing retail brand, we’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Assistant to support our People & Culture team at our Markham head office.

Position Overview

As an HR Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting daily HR operations, employee communications, and administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, people-focused, and eager to grow a career in Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment efforts including posting jobs, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Help coordinate training sessions and staff communications
  • Prepare employment letters, contracts, and HR documents
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures
  • Assist with payroll prep and time-off tracking
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure accuracy in all HR-related tasks

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR or administrative support role
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Familiarity with HR software or payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Trakstar) is a plus
