HR Assistant to support our People & Culture team at our Markham head office.
Position Overview
As an HR Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting daily HR operations, employee communications, and administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organized, people-focused, and eager to grow a career in Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with recruitment efforts including posting jobs, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews
- Maintain and update employee records and HR databases
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes
- Help coordinate training sessions and staff communications
- Prepare employment letters, contracts, and HR documents
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures
- Assist with payroll prep and time-off tracking
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure accuracy in all HR-related tasks
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in an HR or administrative support role
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Familiarity with HR software or payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Trakstar) is a plus
