Job description

This HR Advisor & Project Administrator develops and evaluates human resources policies, programs and procedures and presents strategic recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team. Additionally, this role manages the human resources and administration for CT&V Projects. This position reports to the Finance Manager and regular hours are Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00pm (overtime is expected).

HR Professional Job Duties:

  • Develop, evaluate, and present human resources strategies and recommendations to the senior leadership team; including policies, programs, and procedures to address the organization's human resource requirements, employee experience, and employee retention.
  • Research and prepare job descriptions and job ads, post ads when required. Manage resumes including providing hiring manager with potential candidates, and when requested communicate with potential candidates.
  • Monthly HR & Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Metrics. Analyze metrics to identify trends and recommend solutions.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Address employee relations issues and conduct investigations as needed.
  • Complete investigations and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Coaching supervisors on performance management, managing a team and other topics to support leaders in their role.
  • Complete all aspects of the recruitment cycle and selection process (job description, recruitment plan & posting, sort through resumes and short list, assist hiring manager with interview questions, put together offer letter).

Site Project Job Duties:

  • Work with the Construction Manager to onboard and send out job statements to all new crew members going out to a site.
  • Collaborate with the Project Managers to understand the onboarding requirements for the site.
  • Coordinate with the Safety Administrator to ensure appropriate D&A testing and other safety training is booked.
  • Ensure crew listing is updated and any required client paperwork is completed for onboarding.
  • Create project schedules using MS Projects and updating weekly with the Project Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field from a recognized University.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in human resources.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in project administration and/or construction, an asset.
  • HR accreditation such as Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR), an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of Saskatchewan employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of change management principles, an asset.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications. Experience and skills in working within SharePoint.
