Job Description

The Human Resources Administrator (Onboarding and Engagement Partner) provides local HR expertise to a District. This includes full cycle employee onboarding, retention, and off-boarding. This individual also supports management with various HR functions as required.

What You’ll Do

  • Process new hire paperwork including criminal background checks and vulnerable sector results
  • Coordinate and conduct onboarding for new hires on their first day
  • Administer payroll and benefit paperwork for new and existing employees
  • Abide by HR policies according to union agreements, company policies, and legislation including Employment Standards Act
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for employee inquiries
  • Research and analyze employee relations concerns under management guidance
  • Conduct exit interviews and ensure employee off-boarding
  • Support management in training presentations on HR issues, policies, procedures, and documentation

What You Bring

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a human resources role
  • Knowledge of Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance Management, Compensation, Benefits, Training, and applicable legislation (ESA, Human Rights, WSIB)
  • Experience in healthcare preferred
  • Familiarity with unions and collective agreements
