A regional health organization in Winnipeg is seeking a Housing Support Worker to assist with Housing & Support Plans. The role involves skill building, providing support to tenants, and facilitating engaging activities. Ideal candidates will have related experience, knowledge of housing models, and strong interpersonal skills. This role may require evening and weekend work.
The Housing Support Worker will assist in carrying out Housing & Support Plans under the supervision of the Housing Coordinators with potential input from geographically based Community Mental Health Program Staff, ICM, or the Cross-Cultural Program. The Housing Support Worker is responsible for rehabilitative and supportive functions including skill building / enhancement, creation and maintenance of formal and informal support networks, providing applicable accurate information and consultation with families as related to skill building / enhancement and development of supports. The Support Worker promotes personal growth through mental wellness sessions and activities and facilitates group activities and events that provide fun and engage tenants who are uninvolved.
