Job summary

Indwell is seeking a casual Supportive Housing Coordinator in Sarnia, ON. You will work with residents facing mental health and/or substance use, helping maintain housing stability and develop personal service plans.

This role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, crisis support, and group programming, with emphasis on dignity, love and hope. The position offers casual hours (evenings, weekends, some holidays) and a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and related experience
• Experience working within a case management framework with individuals with serious mental illness, substance use, or other special needs
• Commitment to promoting and demonstrating the vision, mission, and values of Indwell within the workplace and community
• A warm, sensitive, and caring approach
• Ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships and have a genuine interest in supporting people living with mental illness
• Work independently, have strong problem-solving skills, be flexible, organized, responsible, and take initiative
• A current Vulnerable Sector Police Check or willingness to obtain at one’s own cost
• A valid “G” class driver’s license with own vehicle

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to residents using a recovery-oriented approach
• Develop and carry out individual resident service plans and relevant assessment tools
• Coordinate with residents to identify goals for recovery
• Connect residents with clinical and informal supports
• Lead group programming and collaborate with interdisciplinary team
• Maintain and protect tenant health records through timely documentation
• Coordinate duties such as apartment checks and pest management
• Support and mentor volunteers and staff as part of a team
