Job summary

The Namgis First Nation is seeking a Housing Maintenance Worker in Alert Bay to provide maintenance support for community homes. Reporting to the Housing Manager, you will coordinate with the Housing Manager and Clerk to keep accurate records and plan maintenance tasks.

You will liaise with tenants, review care and maintenance processes, perform related administrative duties, participate in training, and provide on-call support to the Housing department as required.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and related software is preferred.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in general building maintenance or a trades background is an asset.

• Work directly with tenants in reviewing sustainable housing care and maintenance lead/facilitate the process of: Risk assessment, tenancy reports, inspection reports working relationship with other 'Namgis departments and other stakeholders required

• Participate in training, in-person or on-line, as required
• Provide on-call support to the Housing department upon request

Salary: $45,879 - $53,368 per year, commensurate with experience

About The Role

Reporting to the Housing Manager, the Housing Maintenance Worker will provide maintenance support for 'Namgis First nation homes. The Housing Manager Worker will work in conjunction with both the Housing Manager and Clerk to ensure quality maintenance records and planning.
