Job summary

Autismservices is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support housing facilities at Zagime Anishinabek Nation. The role focuses on routine upkeep, minor renovations, and preventative tasks in the Housing Department.

You will manage work orders, track labour costs, and ensure health and safety standards are followed across buildings and grounds.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily maintenance tasks on housing buildings according to applicable codes.
• Maintain daily work orders and bi-weekly activity logs.
• Assist in estimating labour costs for work orders.
• Report health and safety concerns affecting occupants.
• Handle and store dangerous goods and equipment safely.
• Keep logs and service records for all equipment.
• Maintain inventory and secure storage of materials and tools.
• Comply with workplace health and safety regulations and guidelines.
• Inspect and repair HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Be prepared to participate in on-call rotation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work flexible hours as needed.

Summary

The maintenance technician is a program support position responsible for providing daily maintenance services including minor maintenance and renovations to all housing buildings within the Nation. This position also keeps an inventory of all materials and equipment and assists in preventative maintenance tasks in the Housing Department. Location: Zagime Anishinabek Nation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that daily work orders for minor and major maintenance given by the Housing Department are performed according to the National Building Code of Canada.
• Maintain a daily log and reporting of activities to the immediate supervisor on a bi-weekly basis and assist in estimating labour costs utilized in work orders.
• Report any irregularities or concerns which may arise and affect the health and safety of the occupants of public facilities and grounds.
• Ensure that proper health and safety precautions are taken when handling and storing dangerous goods and equipment.
• Maintain maintenance logs of all equipment and ensure that they are serviced on a regular basis.
• Ensure there is an inventory of all materials and equipment and that they are locked in a secure location.
• Comply with all workplace health and safety measures as well as the applicable legislation and guidelines for public facilities.
• Monitor and repair electrical, plumbing, and heating ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC).
• May be required to take an on call rotation.
• Perform any other duties that may be assigned.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
