Job summary

The Salvation Army – Crossroads Residential Services is seeking a dedicated Caseworker to provide direct casework and housing support for residents at the shelter. You will collaborate with the Case Management Team to develop and implement individualized plans, assess progress, and connect clients with community resources.

You will conduct intake interviews, maintain confidential files, and deliver counseling while prioritizing client safety, confidentiality, and holistic care.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal post-secondary/college program of two academic years in Social Services, Human Services, or any other relevant fields.
• Certification in Mental Health & Addictions would be an asset.
• Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct casework to assist clients within Crossroads Residential Services policies and programs.
• Interviews clients to complete intakes, develop case plans, monitor progress, and provide ongoing support.
• Maintains accurate, confidential client records and reports to the Residential Services Manager.
• Delivers individual counselling, wellness checks, and supports spiritual needs with the Spiritual Care team.
• Handles crisis de-escalation, documentation, and coordination with external social service agencies.
