Job summary

Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hospitality management company, seeks a friendly Houseperson to join our team. You’ll help maintain clean guest rooms and public areas, supporting operations and delivering consistent service.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, able to work independently or in a team, and flexible to work weekends and holidays. Training and opportunities for growth are provided within our portfolio of properties.

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping or hotel experience is helpful but not required.
• Able to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain cleanliness standards.
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional and courteous guest-service demeanor.
• Flexible hours including weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, public areas, and other spaces according to hotel standards.
• Make beds, change linens, replenish supplies, dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and sanitize surfaces.
• Inspect areas for cleanliness, damage, or maintenance needs and report issues promptly.
• Respond courteously to guest requests and special housekeeping needs.
• Handle guest belongings and hotel property responsibly and per procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, supplies, and work areas in an organized condition.
• Follow chemical handling, sanitation, safety, and infection-control procedures.
• Assist with deep cleaning and special projects as assigned.
• Communicate room status and maintenance needs to appropriate hotel departments.
• Support the team in meeting productivity, quality, and guest-satisfaction standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As Houseperson, you'll play an important role in supporting hotel operations, delivering exceptional service, and helping our team achieve its operational and business goals.

Job Purpose

The Housekeeping position is responsible for maintaining clean, comfortable, and welcoming guest rooms and public areas in accordance with hotel and brand standards. This position supports a positive guest experience through attention to detail, efficiency, cleanliness, and responsive service.

What You'll Do

• Clean and maintain guest rooms, bathrooms, public areas, and other assigned spaces according to hotel standards.
• Make beds, change linens, replenish supplies, dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and sanitize surfaces.
• Inspect assigned areas for cleanliness, damage, or maintenance concerns and report issues promptly.
• Respond courteously to guest requests and special housekeeping needs.
• Handle guest belongings and hotel property responsibly and according to company procedures.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, and pull throughout the workday.
• Lift, carry, and maneuver housekeeping supplies and equipment.
• Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Work with cleaning chemicals and in varying temperatures as required.

Technology & Systems

Experience with the following is preferred:

• Property Management Systems (PMS)
• Housekeeping room-status systems
• Mobile or handheld hotel communication tools
