Sandman Hotel Group in Canada is hiring for a Full Time housekeeping/maintenance role to support our team. No education or prior experience is required; comprehensive training will be provided to help you succeed in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

You will perform cleaning tasks, upkeep public areas, and assist with maintenance while following safety procedures and professional guidelines.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• No education or experience required, we will train one on one
• Ability to follow instruction
• Good communication skills are an asset
• Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is an asset
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
• Professional appearance and manners
• Able to lift up to 50lbs.

DUTIES:

• Sweeping, mopping, waxing/washing floors, dusting furniture, making beds, changing sheets/towels, stocking linen closets and supplies area,
• Attend to guest needs/requests for extra supplies, cleaning and disinfecting public areas such as changing rooms, showers and pool area, washing windows/walls/ceilings, picking up debris, and empty trash containers.
• Weeding/Mowing/Hedge Trimming
• Planting/Edging
• Power washing
• Painting
• General Maintenance
• Assist housekeepers when required.
• Ensures all maintenance and safety hazards are promptly reported to the Supervisor/Manager to minimize hazard risk
• Takes personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and secure at all times
• Maintains an up to date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products, and the correct handling procedures
• Reports any unusual or suspicious persons/activities happening in the area of security to the manager
• Reports any maintenance issues including burned out light bulbs
