Job description

If you are looking for a team that brings out the best in each other, has fun, and takes pride in their work, we want to hear from you! The Hampton Inn & Suites - Kelowna Airport is currently seeking a Housekeeping Runner.

We are conveniently located on a bus route with a stop just outside the hotel, and we offer shared staff accommodation. Our complimentary shuttle also picks up employees from the bus loop at UBCO!

What will you be doing?

• Maintaining a neat and professional appearance (clean uniform and visible name tag)
• Arriving at least 10 minutes before your shift starts
• Performing assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy
• Responding promptly to guest requests and assisting accordingly
• Multi-tasking efficiently, prioritizing guest assistance over other tasks
• Completing repetitive tasks such as stripping guest rooms, making beds, collecting linens, and collecting garbage
• Working independently and as part of a team
• Promoting our facilities and services to guests and directing them as needed
• Assisting with laundry duties, including washing, delivering linens, and sorting the laundry chute
• Transporting and distributing laundry manually to designated locations
• Stocking storage rooms with guest supplies for Room Attendants
• Cleaning linen rooms and electrical rooms
• Following lost and found procedures accurately, including bagging and tagging items
• Handling chemicals safely in accordance with MSDS guidelines
• Stocking housekeeping carts with linens, guest supplies, and cleaning materials
• Cleaning guest rooms and performing stayover cleans as required
• Completing all necessary Brand Trainings
• Assisting other departments and resolving challenges as needed
• Working varied shifts including days, weekends, and holidays
• Participating in property walks and parking lot clean-ups
• Following health, safety, and security procedures
• Communicating concerns or issues to appropriate hotel personnel
• Cross-training and working at sister properties when necessary
• Performing other duties as assigned by management

What are we looking for?

• A keen eye for detail
• Self-motivated with good time management and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 30 pounds
• Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, and stooping; standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods
• Willingness to perform other duties as assigned
