Position Summary

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager and Assistant Manager, the Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining buildings in a clean and orderly condition. Duties include heavy cleaning tasks such as cleaning floors, restrooms, washing walls, glass, and removing rubbish. Responsibilities may also include notifying management of repairs needed. Additional cleaning duties may be assigned as necessary.

This role offers an hourly rate of $17.20 CAD.

This position will remain open until August 29, 2025.

About the Venue

Featuring year-round concerts, dance performances, and live theatre, FirstOntario Concert Hall (formerly Hamilton Place) is renowned for its stunning interior and excellent acoustics, making it an ideal venue for various events.

FirstOntario Concert Hall is also home to the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra.

Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop floors, vacuum, dump garbage and recycle bins, and perform all cleaning tasks for halls, restrooms, lunchrooms, including washing walls, windows, and window coverings.
  • Clean and restock restroom facilities.
  • Clean the orchestra and balcony seating areas.
  • Monitor work quality, provide training as needed.

  • Motivated and able to work independently.
  • Ability to understand and communicate detailed instructions orally and in writing.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
