Job description

Our client on Vancouver Island that operates a very nice five-star resort-style operation requires a Housekeeping Manager to lead the housekeeping team.

  • PLEASE NOTE : THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN IN HOUSEKEEPING INDIVIDUALS THAT CAN LEGALLY WORK IN CANADA, ARE IN THE COUNTRY AND CAN START AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

The Housekeeping Manager has the responsibility to ensure the property is well taken care of, cleaned in a timely manner, and maintained. The public areas must be maintained at the highest levels of cleanliness and must be aesthetically pleasing.

You will help direct and control all housekeeping activities, maintaining all rooms and public areas per company standards for cleanliness and budget costs to ensure guests' satisfaction. You must also have excellent communication skills and care for all guest needs.

Responsibilities include :

  • Accountability for the quality of the Public Areas, dining rooms, and Spa - ensuring areas are well maintained.
  • Regular training and inspections to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards.
  • Assisting with the preparation of yearly budgets and being guided accordingly throughout the year by placing emphasis on retaining high standards and cost controls.
  • Working closely with all management departments to achieve / exceed departmental goals.
  • Being a firm and fair leader and a role model for all team members.
  • Continually looking for ways to improve the operations of the Housekeeping Department for the benefit of Talents and Guests.
  • Ensuring you and all team members are familiar with the Resort, Health, and Safety Environmental Policy, Fire Prevention, and Accident / Incident Procedures.
