Accountability Objective

Your passion for cleanliness and eye for detail helps to set our residence apart. We celebrate our Housekeeping Attendants as the first line of defense in preventing infection control and prevention. Without you, we wouldn’t be able to keep our residence sparkling clean! Our Housekeeping Attendants play a critical role in the health, safety, and well-being of our residents by ensuring our infection and sanitation control measures are maintained throughout the residence. Under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager, our Housekeepers are responsible for performing housekeeping tasks efficiently, with consideration for the needs and comfort of the residents.

Background/Qualifications

• Minimum of grade 12 education required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar housekeeping position is preferred.
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail to ensure cleaning standards are met.
• Dependable, responsible, and able to work well independently and in a team environment. Demonstrates a positive attitude aligned with the residence's goals and standards.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working with disinfectants, cleaning chemicals, and hazardous materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in and adhere to continuous quality improvement standards.
• Follow infection prevention control protocols to ensure resident safety and well-being.
• Perform daily and weekly cleaning, laundry, and vacuuming of resident suites as per procedures and schedules.
• Clean all common areas according to policies and schedules.
• Replenish supplies as needed.
• Perform additional cleaning and sanitizing as required.
• Dispose of garbage daily from waste containers.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and sanitation of housekeeping rooms, closets, equipment, and carts.
• Assist residents as needed.
• Report equipment or maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Complete Occupational Health and Safety audits as assigned.
• Maintain effective communication with co-workers and supervisory staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Environmental Services Manager or designate.
• Comply with all policies, procedures, and mandatory training requirements.
• Participate in safety programs, fire drills, and other initiatives.
