Job summary

Actionmarguerite in Winnipeg, Manitoba is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Attendant to deliver housekeeping and laundry services in our long-term care facility, ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents.

The role requires bilingual English/French communication, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and experience with floor washing equipment. The position is 0.80 FTE with day shifts, and a closing date of September 8, 2026.

Qualifications

• Directly related experience in a long-term / chronic care facility is an asset.
• Bilingual French and English communication is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills with residents’ families and co-workers.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; Safety footwear is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory.
• Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety and WHMIS.

Job description

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for the delivery of Housekeeping Services where applicable, by performing a variety of environmental activities, according to standards, to ensure a clean and safe environment and supports resident focused care and other related functions. The Housekeeping Attendant demonstrates a commitment to the vision, mission and values of Actionmarguerite.

Service: Housekeeping and Laundry ServicesStarting Date: October 04, 2026Shift and Hours of Work: 0.80 FTE – part-time -term- days, currently 07:15 – 15:30Pay Scale: As per CUPE Collective Agreement
Specifications: Term ending February 02,2027 with 2 week’s notice and possibility of extension. Assignmentand hours of work are subject to change at any time as per operational requirements.
Closing Date: September 08, 2026

• Mental and physical health to meet the demands of the job. Strength to lift heavy loads / items and ability to lift 50 pounds;
• Ability to demonstrate a satisfactory employment record, including attendance; and
• Current Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable sector and Adult Abuse Registry Check deemed satisfactory by the Employer.

Knowledge:

• Workplace Health and Safety and safe work practices; and
• W.H.M.I.S. program.

This position is designated bilingual (French/English). All staff are hired for the facility.Employees may hold more than one position in different Actionmarguerite facilities, where the sum total of hours does not exceed 1.0 full-time equivalence.
