Overview

O’Rourke Family Estate (OFE) is a 300-acre property with panoramic views of surrounding orchards, vineyards, rolling mountains, and the glistening water of Okanagan Lake. Inspired by Europe’s most famous wineries, the property features 110 acres of vines, 300 meters of winding tunnels, and 12,000 square feet of cave space to store and age wines. In addition to OFE, the O’Rourke portfolio includes Peak Cellars. Located on a 7-acre property in Lake Country, and is home to our Goldie Road Vineyard. Wine isn’t the only thing the property produces; the half-acre organic vegetable garden and two greenhouses supply the highest quality fruits and vegetables for the Garden Bistro.

Role type: Seasonal, part-time (less than 30 hours per week)

Location: Lake Country, BC

Reports into: Housekeeping Supervisor, Manager, Event Operations and Accommodations

Role Scope: The housekeeping attendant is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization and presentation across both Peak Cellars and O’Rourke Family Estate locations. This role is integral to creating a welcoming and polished environment for guests, staff, and visitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Cleaning:

Perform daily cleaning tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Sanitize high-touch surfaces and restrooms.
  • Clean windows, glass surfaces, mirrors, and counters as needed.
  • Emptying trash and recycling receptacles.
  • Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, and polishing all furniture and fixtures in all facilities.
  • Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected to facility standards.
  • Cleaning, scrubbing, and sanitizing toilets, showers, bathtubs, countertops, and sinks.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen area including all appliances and sinks.
  • Sorting, washing, loading, and unloading laundry for guest homes.
  • Ironing and steaming of appropriate laundry items for guest homes.
  • Keeping all bathrooms stocked with appropriate supplies.
  • Tidying up rooms as needed.

Guest- Focused Duties:

  • Prepare guest accommodations and event spaces, including making beds, arranging furniture, and setting up amenities as needed.

Inventory and Supplies:

  • Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, toiletries, linens, and towels in all guest homes.
  • Notify management of low inventory or equipment requiring repairs.

Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with hospitality, events, and kitchen teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Provide updates on completed tasks and areas requiring attention.
  • Assist with special event setups and breakdowns as needed.

Health and Safety:

  • Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Report any hazards, damages, or maintenance issues immediately to the supervisor or manager.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
  • Ability to manage time efficiently.
  • Work well unsupervised.
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during the daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time.
  • Holds or is willing to work towards WHMIS certification.
  • Pays attention to detail when cleaning.
  • Handle basic maintenance and cleaning.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
WORK CONDITIONS:
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as overtime from time to time.
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and walk during the daily routine, with the ability to stand for long lengths of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
