Under the guidance of the Human Resources/Health & Safety Manager, the Housekeeping Associate will efficiently and effectively perform all production and sanitation duties. The Housekeeping Associate is responsible for ensuring daily sanitation of the plant, adhering to Mariposa Dairy’s standards, safety, and health regulations to achieve superior work output. This role requires knowledge and experience in cleaning and sanitizing rooms, along with a willingness to learn new cleaning methods and operate various equipment. The Housekeeping Associate will clean all areas of the plant and office spaces following HACCP guidelines.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean common areas of both 201 St George Street and 163 St David Street. This includes, but is not limited to:
Sweeping and washing all floors,
Emptying garbage cans and recycling,
Cleaning and sanitizing lunchrooms and washrooms,
Sanitizing handrails, door handles, and other common touch surfaces,
Daily cleaning of offices and meeting rooms.
Maintain supplies in common areas (bathrooms, lunchrooms, meeting rooms, lobbies, mezzanine etc.) and areas throughout the facilities (including the boot wash and hand wash stations). Supplies include, but are not limited to:
Hand soaps and sanitizers,
Paper towels, and
Bathroom tissue.
Monitor and replenish kitchen consumables as appropriate. Work with the HR/Office Administrator to order supplies such as coffee, tea, dish soap etc. Work with the Supply Chain Team to order cleaning supplies and consumables as required.
Supports the recycling and waste management initiatives at Mariposa by actively monitoring and sorting waste to be disposed of in the most appropriate manner.
Daily laundry.
Following HACCP procedures and schedule for routine cleaning.
Filling out appropriate cleaning reports accurately and as required.
Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Lead Hands, and other employees.
Maintain good communication between all team members.
Work in an efficient, timely, safe, and productive manner always.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Assist with rolling or packing as required.
Any other duties as required.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Prior experience as a cleaner or sanitation role preferred.
Flexibility of hours when necessary.
Some work on statutory holidays and/or weekends.
Detail oriented.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Able to work in ranges of temperature and humidity.
Safe handling of chemicals and proper use of PPE.
High school diploma preferred.
MINIMUM CRITERIA
Must have good attendance.
Good team player.
Must be able to follow SOP, GMP and complete forms accurately.
Must have a good and positive attitude towards change and other employees.
