Job Opportunity: Housekeeping Staff

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment for residents using infection control principles.
  • Clean, disinfect, polish, and dust residents’ rooms, offices, and common areas, including furniture, windows, walls, floors, and equipment.
  • Perform routine, deep, terminal, and discharge cleaning, waste management, and floor maintenance according to schedule.
  • Handle laundry for residents, including personal clothing and linens, and follow up on lost clothing reports.
  • Clean and disinfect bathrooms, washrooms, and communal areas; ensure equipment and supplies are well-maintained and stocked.
  • Assist in inventory control of cleaning supplies and communicate with the charge nurse regarding special care needs.
  • Carry out duties professionally within a multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions in English.
  • Physical stamina for cleaning tasks.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months).
  • Experience in housekeeping within long-term care or elderly care is an asset.
