Job Overview

The Housekeeping Aide plays a vital role in our communities by ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents. This position involves maintaining cleanliness in residents' rooms, common areas, and ensuring infection control principles are followed.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure daily cleanliness of residents’ rooms, offices, and common areas, including furniture, walls, floors, and bathrooms.
2. Perform routine, deep, terminal, and discharge cleaning, as well as waste management.
3. Maintain a safe environment for residents by adhering to infection control protocols.
4. Check that supplies and equipment are in proper working order before starting duties.
5. Work professionally within a multidisciplinary team.
6. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of infection control, cleaning practices, and housekeeping equipment.
• Good interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written English communication.
• Successful completion of Vulnerable Sector and Criminal Records Checks (applicable regions).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in institutional cleaning or laundry in a long-term care setting.
