Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean, safe environment for residents, adhering to infection control principles.
  • Clean, disinfect, polish, and dust residents’ rooms, offices, and common areas, including furniture, windows, walls, floors, and bathrooms.
  • Perform routine, deep, terminal, and discharge cleaning, floor maintenance, and waste management as scheduled.
  • Additional cleaning duties include dusting, glass cleaning, disinfecting surfaces, vacuuming carpets, laundry, and equipment care.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate with staff regarding special care needs.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions in English.
  • Physical stamina for cleaning tasks.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months).
  • Experience in housekeeping within long-term care or elder care is an asset.
Additional Information
  • Adherence to safety, infection control, and quality assurance policies.
  • Participation in meetings and training as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
