Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping Aide to perform routine cleaning and sanitization across resident suites, public areas, and offices. You will dust, vacuum, mop, disinfect, polish surfaces, and manage supplies while adhering to safety and infection-control protocols.

Strong English communication, ability to lift 50 lbs, and flexibility to adapt to changing schedules are essential. Experience with industrial cleaners and equipment is preferred in a supportive senior-care environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs and have WHMIS training.
• Fluent in English, both oral and written.
• Experience with industrial vacuum, scrubber, floor polisher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleaning duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping and disinfecting resident suites and common areas.
• Dusts and polishes furniture, fixtures and surfaces; cleans windows and walls as needed.
• Removes trash and maintains supply inventory for housekeeping and public areas.
• Completes daily duty checklists and maintains equipment following safety guidelines.
• Supports IPC, WHMIS and Workplace Health & Safety procedures across tasks.

Job description

The Opportunity: The Housekeeping Aide is primarily responsible for assigned cleaning duties in accordance with established work schedules, policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Completes routine cleaning duties as assigned including, but not limited to, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and disinfecting of resident suites, restrooms, showers, nursing stations, lounges, offices and other areas as assigned
• Dusts, cleans and polishes furniture, cabinets, lamps/light fixtures, wall vents, handrails, baseboards, blinds etc. in resident suites, public areas and offices as assigned
• Cleans windows and spot washes walls per routine task checklist
• Removes & disposes of trash from suites, public areas and offices
• Completes duty check list on a daily basis; answers all housekeeping pages
• Maintains equipment by following proper operating instructions, proper cleaning instructions and storing safely
• Maintains appropriate inventory of resident supplies, public area supplies and replenishment of position specific supplies (e.g. toilet paper, cleaning products, hand towels, hand soap etc.)
• Utilizes procedures as trained in compliance with IPC, WHMIS, Workplace Health & Safety

Qualifications:
