Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes Ottawa LTC in Ottawa, ON, is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Aide to maintain a clean, safe living environment for Residents. You will perform general cleaning, sanitizing, laundry support, and related duties under supervision.

The role reports to the Environmental Service Manager and requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds, stand for long periods, and communicate in English. Starting wage is $20.53 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens and dining areas; vacuum floors and dust surfaces.
• Stock towels and linens; fold laundry and put away as needed.
• Notify maintenance if something is not working correctly and assist with other duties.

Reports to: Environmental Service Manager

The Housekeeping Aide provides support to the residence by, cleaning and sanitizing to ensure that our Residents are living in the best environment possible.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean – Perform general cleaning and sanitizing tasks throughout the assigned property. Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchen, and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, glasses, pots and pans. Wipe and dust surfaces in rooms and clean mirrors. Vacuum and clean floors, rugs, furniture, and drapes. Remove and replace linens, bedspreads, and blankets.
• Stock – Wash and stock all towels, washcloths, and hand towels in bathrooms. Fold laundry and put away as needed.
• Other – Pick up and empty trash containers. Load washer and dryer as needed. If applicable, notify maintenance if something is not working correctly.

Additional Requirements include

• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.

• Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.
