Extendicare Kapuskasing is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Aide to join our caring team. You will maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff, following established infection prevention and safety procedures inside and outside the Long-Term Care facility.

Responsibilities

• Use cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing agents to maintain a clean, safe environment for residents and staff inside and outside the facility.
• Follow infection prevention and control policies and safety procedures.
• Attend staff meetings, in-service education, and complete mandatory education.
• Collaborate with other departments for tasks like transferring residents, handling supplies, and maintaining equipment.

HOUSEKEEPING AIDE - Extendicare

As a valued member of our housekeeping and maintenance team, you will provide clean and safe environment to residents as well as staff in accordance with policies, procedures and work routines. This position is for our Extendicare Kapuskasing Home, located in Kapuskasing, ON. Available opportunities include: Part-Time

What you’ll be doing

• Using specified cleaning/disinfecting/sanitizing agents to ensure a clean and safe environment for residents and staff inside and outside of Long-Term Care facility.
• Adhere to established company policies and procedures regarding infection prevention and control, quality assurance, fire, and safety etc.
• Participate in staff meetings as assigned, attend in-service education programs and complete all mandatory education as assigned.
• Collaborate with other departments in tasks such as transferring residents, moving, ordering and storing supplies, ordering/maintenance/distribution of furniture and equipment etc.

What you bring

• Comfortable handling considerable heavy lifting, reaching, squatting, kneeling, crouching and moving equipment, climbing ladders and exposure to biochemical agents and wet floors.
• Ability to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening to be provided.
• Bilingual in French and English an asset.
