Job summary

Tabor Village is seeking a Housekeeping Aide to perform a range of light cleaning duties in a care-residential setting. You will sweep, mop, vacuum, dust and polish, and ensure washrooms are disinfected and stocked.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or equivalent education.
• Physical ability to perform cleaning duties.

Responsibilities

• Cleans floors, stairs, walls, windows, and walkways by sweeping, spot washing and damp mopping.
• Cleans carpets and rugs by vacuuming, shampooing, brushing, and shaking.
• Dusts, polishes and wipers furniture, woodwork, fixtures and blinds.
• Cleans and disinfects washrooms and replenishes soap and towels.
• Makes beds and tidies rooms; handles linens and garments.
• Empties waste containers and removes garbage from buildings.
• Locks windows and doors following security procedures.
• Reports damaged fixtures and furniture.
• Maintains equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts.
• Delivers linens and garments and operates laundry equipment.

Job Summary

Positions at this level perform a variety of light cleaning duties such as sweeping and damp mopping floors, vacuuming carpets and dusting and polishing furniture.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Cleans areas such as floors, stairways, walls, windows, and walkways by methods such as sweeping, spot washing and damp mopping.
• Cleans carpets and rugs by methods such as vacuuming, shampooing, brushing, and shaking.
• Cleans items such as furniture, woodwork, ledges, fixtures, and blinds by methods such as dusting, polishing, and wiping.
• Cleans and disinfects washrooms and replenishes items such as soap and towels.
• Strips and makes beds; cleans and tidies items such as cupboards, lockers, basins, and tables; hangs and removes items such as drapes and bed curtains.
• Empties and cleans waste containers and removes garbage from buildings.
• Locks windows and doors following facility security procedures.
• Reports damaged and/or inoperable fixtures and furniture.
• Maintains related equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and replacing items such as filter bags and belts.
• Sorts and folds linens and resident garments.
• Delivers linens and garments.
• Loads and unloads commercial washer and dryer. Uses laundry truck and bins.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training, & Experience

Grade 10 or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
