Providence Living is seeking a part-time Housekeeping Aide for Central City Lodge in Vancouver. You will perform light and heavy cleaning duties to maintain housekeeping standards, reporting to the Manager, Support Services or delegate.

Hours 0700-1500, 0.94 FTE; salary grid 10 at CAD 25.82 per hour. Applicants should have Grade 10 and strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to work effectively with residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Grade 10 or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Ability to organize work.

Responsabilités

• Cleans and disinfects areas throughout the facility using methods such as wet mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing and polishing.
• Cleans fixtures, ceilings, vents, blinds, window frames and ledges, and other areas with sweeping, washing, scrubbing, dusting and vacuuming.
• High dusts or vacuums pipes, lights, ventilators as required using ladders.
• Cleans resident rooms including beds, furniture, and tidying cupboards and tables; remove refuse; disinfect washrooms and fixtures.
• Collects and removes soiled linen; replaces soiled bedside curtains as directed.
• Replenishes soap dispensers and paper supplies.
• Reports maintenance problems to appropriate personnel.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Support Services or delegate, this position cleans and maintains assigned areas in the facility to required housekeeping standards by performing light and heavy cleaning duties.

DUTIES

May perform any or all the following functions:

1. 1. Cleans and disinfects areas throughout the facility such as carpets, floors, stairways, walls and windows using methods that include wet mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing, waxing and polishing, by hand or using power equipment.
2. 2. Cleans and spot cleans fixtures, ceilings, vents, blinds, window frames and ledges, and other areas throughout the facility using methods such as sweeping, washing, scrubbing, dusting, and vacuuming.
3. 3. High dusts or vacuums pipes, lights, ventilators, as required using step ladders where necessary.
4. 4. Cleans resident rooms including stripping and making beds; cleaning furniture and tidying areas such as cupboards and tables; removing refuse; and cleaning and disinfecting washrooms and fixtures.
5. 5. Collects and removes soiled linen from rooms and dispatches to soiled collection area for transport to the laundry. Replaces soiled bedside curtains as directed.
6. 6. Replenishes soap dispensers and paper supplies.
7. 7. Reports any necessary maintenance problems to appropriate personnel.
8. 8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
