Our client is a private household seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization. This role requires professionalism, discretion, and the ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.

This is a contract position with variable hours (8-hour shifts) on Saturdays and Sundays, with the potential for overtime. The contract is expected to last until at least September 2025, with the possibility of extension until December 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The key job functions are:

  • Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, stairways, and other residential areas.
  • Vacuum household areas twice daily, depending on the season.
  • Sweep, mop, and disinfect floors and surfaces.
  • Dust and polish furniture, accessories, and equipment.
  • Polish silverware and decorative items.
  • Handle general laundry duties, including washing, ironing, steaming, and caring for delicate fabrics such as silk and cashmere.
  • Make beds, change linens, and maintain tidy bedrooms and bathrooms.
  • Wash dishes, clean kitchen spaces, and assist with meal preparation and serving when required.
  • Ensure garbage is emptied daily and maintain waste disposal routines.
  • Assist in table setting for regular meals and special events.
  • Support household staff with special projects as needed.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all household matters.
  • Perform other housekeeping duties as assigned.

Education:

  • No formal education is required, but professional housekeeping training or certifications are an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check.
  • Must be highly trustworthy and capable of maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently while also taking direction from the Executive Housekeeper and household members.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional housekeeping experience is preferred.
  • Experience in laundry care, including handling delicate garments and fine linens.
  • Experience assisting with basic meal preparation or event service is an asset.
  • Previous experience in a high-end private household or luxury hospitality setting is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and best practices.
  • Experience handling and maintaining delicate fabrics and fine furnishings.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong time management and reliability.
  • Discretion and professionalism when handling private and sensitive information.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a structured household environment.

Base Salary: $25-30 per hour (Wage based on experience).

Work Hours:

  • Variable hours (8-hour shifts) on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Potential for overtime based on household needs and events on the property.

Additional Notes:

  • This opportunity does not include relocation. It will be the responsibility of the candidate should relocation be required.
