Job Title: Housekeeper

We are seeking 2 Housekeepers to join our team at Nova Inn Acheson in Acheson, Alberta. We have one full-time position and one part-time position that requires weekend work. If you are interested, please apply online.

Primary Functions

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms to ensure guest satisfaction. This includes organizing tasks efficiently, working as part of a team, and adhering to hotel standards using proper cleaning techniques and agents.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Follow all housekeeping Standard Operating Procedures.
• Clean and service guest rooms according to standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing bathrooms, and removing trash. Also includes cleaning appliances like refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee makers.
• Monitor and manage supplies and amenities, minimizing waste.
• Report and log lost and found items.
• Immediately report maintenance, safety, security concerns, or suspicious activities to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of carts and supplies.
• Clean and maintain hallways and common areas.
• Regularly clean and maintain cleaning tools and equipment.
• Assist with trash, recyclables, and linen removal.
• Clean approximately one guest room every 30 minutes.
• Adhere to Nova Hotels standards, including hygiene, safety, security, and guest interaction protocols.
• Provide exceptional guest service at all times.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Physical Demands

Must be physically fit to push, pull, and lift over 50 lbs occasionally, and capable of bending and kneeling comfortably. The role involves lifting under 20 lbs for 50% of the time, carrying over 20 lbs for 10%, and pulling over 20 lbs for 50% of the time.

Work Environment

The position operates in a hotel setting with medium-high noise levels, high guest traffic, and exposure to moving equipment, chemicals, and potential hazards such as sharps and biohazards. There may be exposure to theft, belligerent guests, and high temperatures around heavy equipment.
