WHAT’S THE JOB?

Based in a world-class Horizon North camp facility, the regular shift for this position is 20 days on and 10 days off, with 10-hour workdays. Transportation is provided to the site from a designated pick-up point.

As a Housekeeper, reporting to the Manager, you will ensure the overall cleanliness of our facilities to the highest standards.

This position is safety-sensitive and requires drug, alcohol, and fitness-to-work testing as a condition of employment.

Your work will include:

  • Conducting walk-downs - cleaning 30 rooms per day, depending on client occupancy.
  • Providing full housekeeping services in guest rooms and hallways.
  • Making beds and changing linens weekly or as needed.
  • Vacuuming and dusting all room furniture, blinds, including hallways.
  • Washing, scrubbing, and sanitizing bathrooms, windows, and mirrors.
  • Emptying garbage from all sleeping areas, including trash and recycling collection.
  • Washing and folding towels, linens, and beddings.
  • Loading and unloading laundry, linen trucks, and supplies.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of bedding in the lodge, assisting with inventory, and reporting shortages to the Lodge Manager.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • You have a minimum of 6 months’ janitorial and/or housekeeping experience.
  • You have knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment.
  • Experience in a remote lodge setting or hotel/institutional environment is preferred; commercial cleaning experience is an asset.
  • You are fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You can work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • You are able to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • You can obtain a score of 80% or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System).
