Summary

Reporting To: Soft Facilities Management Supervisor

Location: Niagara Falls, Ontario

Core Purpose of the Job :Perform a variety of housekeeping tasks within a facility by company policies and operational requirements of the Project Agreement. Wash, scrub, and polish floors using auto scrubbers, burnishers, bonnet floor machines, carpet extractors, wet vacuums, and power washers. Remove heavy garbage and operate a compactor as required.

Scope Of Duties & Responsibilities

  • Clean for bacterial control and maintain floors and stairways by methods such as dust/wet mopping and auto-scrubbing with the appropriate equipment.
  • Clean carpets, mats, and rugs for bacterial control by vacuuming, shampooing, and brushing as required with the appropriate equipment.
  • Clean washrooms by washing and disinfecting all washroom floors, toilets, sinks, counters, and mirrors, polishing metal and porcelain fixtures, and replenishing toilet tissue, sanitary liners, paper towels, and soap as required.
  • Clean and disinfect all horizontal surfaces such as furniture, workstations, woodwork, blinds, fixtures, and fittings by dusting, damp wiping and polishing as required.
  • High dust and low dust as required to meet established standards.
  • Empty interior and exterior waste baskets and recycling bins clean and relining baskets, removing garbage from building and compacting as required.
  • Wash and dust areas, such as walls, windows, ceilings, air vents, and ducts.
  • Clean all vertical surfaces, such as walls, windows, doors, hardware, and glass using a 6-foot ladder as required.
  • Clean and polish elevators and clean shower rooms.
  • Operate the steam cleaner machine in areas as required.
  • Report damaged or inoperable fixtures and furniture to the Help Desk promptly.
  • Maintain housekeeping-related equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and replacing items such as filter bags and belts.
  • Before usage, ensure that all housekeeping equipment (i.e., auto-scrubbers) is cleaned, safe, and well maintained.
  • Maintained storage areas and cleaned equipment, carts, materials, and supplies in a safe and orderly manner in order to ensure the safety of staff and the public.
  • Interact effectively and professionally with facility staff and/or visitors.
  • Comply with the Company’s Policies, Management Plans, and Procedures.
  • Fulfill Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company's Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans.
  • Support the Company's Quality Policy Statement and actively participate in the achievement of Company and personal Quality objectives.
  • Undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service. Significant permanent changes in duties will require agreed revisions to be made to this Job Description.
  • Adapt working schedule to match Performance Schedule as necessary.


Requirements / Qualifications

  • Is authorized to work in Canada.
  • Ability to pass the required Security Clearance Check (CPIC).
  • At least 2 years experience in housekeeping environment.
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate in English to respond to customer inquiries as required.
  • Ability to read and understand labels and instructions, particularly on the use and application of cleaning chemicals and products.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and solve problems independently.
  • Knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System.
