Title: Housekeeper – Guest House

Reports To: Guest House Manager
Start Date: September 2025

Position Summary

As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for our guests. This position is central to supporting the spirit of hospitality that defines our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, mopping, and rug cleaning with care and attention to detail.
  • Manage laundry duties including washing, drying, folding, ironing, and distributing clean linen.
  • Monitor linen quality and notify the Manager when items need repair or replacement.
  • Stay familiar with and complete daily, weekly, and seasonal cleaning routines.
  • Order and maintain cleaning and laundry supplies to ensure stock is always adequate.
  • Communicate maintenance needs or repairs to the Guest House Manager.
  • Report any unusual incidents or concerns within the Guest House/convent.
  • Be cross trained to assist in other departments when needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a related field is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the organization and guests.
  • A welcoming demeanor and respectful, confidential approach to work.
  • Secondary school education or higher.
  • Mending and sewing skills are considered an asset.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (11.3 kg) and perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
  • Comfortable using and being around cleaning products.

Hourly Rate: $21.66
