JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a professional Housekeeper capable of attending to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail. The goal is to create a clean and orderly environment for our guests, which is crucial for maintaining and enhancing our reputation while ensuring compliance with quality care standards.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, emptying garbage, cleaning bathrooms, and completing cleaning after discharge, adhering to infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practices.
  2. Follow IPAC and Bayshore procedures for admission room, discharge, isolation, and outbreak client room and unit cleaning.
  3. Comply with Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
  4. Ensure all rooms are maintained and inspected according to standards.
  5. Protect equipment and address any inadequacies.
  6. Report damages, deficits, or disturbances to superiors.
  7. Handle complaints and requests professionally and patiently.
  8. Monitor and replenish stock levels of consumables as needed.
  9. Strictly follow health and safety rules and be aware of company practices.
  10. Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with the company's Quality Management System.
  11. Engage in proactive health and safety activities, notifying supervisors of risks or concerns.
  12. Complete accident reports within 24 hours for any injuries.
  13. Support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
  14. Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information, discussing it only with appropriate personnel.
  15. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Key Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma preferred; Home Support Programs experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high performance standards.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Customer-oriented and friendly demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations objectively.
  • Effective prioritization and time management skills.
  • Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel, reach freely, and lift up to 23 kilograms.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English or French.
  • Understanding and implementation of infection prevention practices.

Experience

At least one year of recent experience in a similar role or relevant life experience.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Transitional Care Cleaner reports to a Clinical Lead or Manager as designated by the Director, Integrated Care Solutions.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

The employee must demonstrate ongoing competency in all duties and responsibilities, adapting to changes and meeting specific goals and objectives.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW

Performance evaluations will be ongoing, with a formal review after the three-month probation period and annually thereafter. Feedback will include input from the employee, team, and client feedback, assessing performance against expectations.
