Job summary

Cogir Senior Living is hiring a part-time Housekeeper in Regina, SK to maintain clean resident suites and common areas in a compassionate, safe environment.

You will clean rooms, laundry tasks, and operate floor care equipment, following established policies and WHMIS guidelines while ensuring resident rights and comfort.

Excellent English communication, reliability, and ability to work with minimal supervision are required. Provides support in daily operations and attends training as needed.

Qualifications

• Good oral and written English communication skills.
• Ability to receive and provide feedback on a day-to-day basis.
• Knowledge and experience of standard institutional cleaning techniques.
• Previous experience in commercial /residential/ healthcare cleaning and laundry procedures is desirable.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to listen to and follow instructions and direction.

Responsibilities

• To clean areas using appropriate cleaning and sanitation methods and procedures.
• To clean residents’ suites and common areas, including furniture, fixtures, walls, trim, doors, ceilings, lights, vents, windows, floors, kitchenettes, sinks, microwaves and fridges; includes private and public washrooms; also includes guest and respite suites; duties vary between occupied and recently vacated suites.
• To clean, dry and fold residents’ and company laundry as required; includes use of commercial and domestic machines; includes stripping and making of resident beds.
• To operate floor care machines and steam cleaning equipment to vacuum, scrub, spray and buff all carpet and non-carpet floor surfaces.
• To pick up garbage and transport to designated areas.
• To adhere to established residence policies and procedures.
• To prepare documentation as required according to residence policies.
• To attend in-service training and/or complete on-line training timely, as required, in order to better serve the needs of the residents and adhere to company policies and procedures.
• To attend staff meetings as required.
• To participate in WHMIS and follow guidelines for safe handling of all cleaning chemicals.
• To participate in measures of continuous improvement where changes in methods and duties may occur for the betterment of the residents, the employees and the company.
• To be aware of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and endeavor to respect and promote it.
• To work in a position of trust with vulnerable adults (residents)
• To uphold and promote the organization's values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality, and integrity
• To complete other duties as assigned.
