Job summary

A leading remote facility provider in Canada is seeking a Housekeeper to ensure the cleanliness of facilities to the highest standards. The role involves cleaning rooms, providing housekeeping services, and maintaining inventory records. Ideal candidates will have at least 6 months of related experience, be fluent in English, and possess strong communication skills. This position offers a 20 days on / 10 days off shift rotation and excellent benefits including paid travel time and fully covered health and dental benefits.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 months’ janitorial and/or housekeeping experience.
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products, and equipment.
  • Experience in a remote lodge setting or hotel/institutional environment is preferred; commercial cleaning experience is an asset.
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability and desire to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Ability to achieve a score of 80% or higher on the mandatory WHMIS test.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting walk-downs - cleaning 30 rooms per day, depending on client occupancy.
  • Providing full housekeeping services in guest rooms and hallways.
  • Making beds and changing linen weekly or as needed.
  • Vacuuming and dusting all room furniture, blinds, including hallways.
  • Washing, scrubbing, and sanitizing bathrooms, windows, and mirrors.
  • Emptying garbage from all sleeping areas, including trash and recycling collection.
  • Washing and folding towels, linens, and beddings.
  • Loading and unloading laundry, linen trucks, and supplies.
  • Maintaining accurate records of bedding in the lodge, assisting with inventory, and reporting shortages to the Lodge Manager.

WHAT’S THE JOB?

Based in a world-class Horizon North camp facility, the regular shift for this position is 20 days on and 10 days off, with 10-hour workdays. Transportation is provided to the site from a pickup point in Edmonton.

As a Housekeeper, reporting to the Head Housekeeper, you will ensure the overall cleanliness of our facilities to the highest standards.

This position is safety sensitive and requires drug, alcohol, and fit-to-work testing as a condition of employment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Conducting walk-downs - cleaning 30 rooms per day, depending on client occupancy.
  2. Providing full housekeeping services in guest rooms and hallways.
  3. Making beds and changing linen weekly or as needed.
